How it works

The operating principle

Upon receiving a command from the control switch or access control system, the Tyre Killer controller activates the motorized/hydraulic power unit and initiates the operating cycle.

The electric motor drives the geardrive/hydraulic pump, generating crank rotation integrated inside the Tyre Killer assembly.

Crank movement drives shaft rotation which enbales raising or lowering of the spikes, while integrated LED indicators and audible warning systems operate simultaneously during movement for enhanced operational safety and visibility.

Frequently Asked questions

Answers from our engineering team

Two Way Spike Barriers feature a dual-shaft spike design, hydraulic operation, below-ground installation, and remote or push-button control. The system is designed to block vehicle movement from both directions.
Two Way Spike Barriers use integrated twin-shaft movement to raise spikes at a 90-degree angle. This creates a physical barrier that helps prevent unauthorized vehicle entry from either direction.
The system is available in lengths from 3 to 6 meters, with blocking heights of 150–250 mm and widths of 400–600 mm. It is constructed from structural steel and uses a hydraulic power unit for operation.
Two Way Spike Barriers support vehicle loads ranging from 50 to 75 tons. This makes them suitable for industrial facilities, government sites, logistics hubs, and high-security locations.
Yes, Two Way Spike Barriers support remote controls, push-buttons, RFID readers, and ANPR systems. Optional safety features include photocell sensors, loop detectors, flashing lights, and traffic light systems.
